
MONICA ACOFF, MSW, LICSW
I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Alabama (AL#4441C). I received a bachelors degree from Troy University and studied M.S. Level Counseling at Troy University as well. I received my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Alabama. My practicum/internship studies focused on work with children/adolescents and brief intensive treatment for adults experiencing psychological episodes. I have worked in both the community and facility settings. In addition, I have extensive experience with families, couples, and individuals dealing with trauma experiences.

JENNIFER SLAY, MSW, LICSW
Jennifer is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in the state of Alabama. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Auburn University in Human Resource Management, before recognizing that she wanted to pursue a career in social work. She then received a Bachelor of Social Work and a Master of Social Work from The University of Alabama. Her internship studies focused on working in community mental health with young adults experiencing brief psychological episodes. During this time, she worked extensively with the mental health court team and the outpatient substance abuse team to provide treatment and link individuals to outside resources. Jennifer also has experience working in HIV care, assisting individuals with chronic illness. She has worked with TAG for almost 4 years, providing mental health services to individuals and families within the foster care system. Before joining private practice, she worked as a Counselor and Support Service Coordinator with Auburn University’s Student Counseling and Psychological Services Center. Jennifer is also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. She is compassionate and dedicated to her work; using CBT, empowerment, and strengths-based approaches to help individuals succeed and meet their goals.

KANDRA STROUD, M.S., ALC
Kandra is an Associate License Counselor in the state of Alabama. Kandra graduated with her Bachelors of science degree from Auburn University in Communication Disorders. She received her Masters of Science degree from Keiser University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Kandra has experience working with individuals, couples, the LGBTQ community, and is a LGBTQ ally. Kandra's area of focus is trauma and she uses a CBT and Narrative approach.

We will use evidence-based practice to facilitate discussions to assist you in exploring your concerns. Providing a supportive and safe space for open discussions is important in my approach.
